Abstract
This chapter explores the context of practice education in social work across the United Kingdom (UK). We consider the diverse roles, services and settings in which practitioners work and focus specifically on social work professional practice learning in this landscape. We consider how to respond to agile working environments and how to maximise learning in multi-disciplinary settings. The chapter provides an overview of practice education for social work for those who are unfamiliar with this and consolidates key information for those who are experienced in this area. It highlights challenges and opportunities and the importance of effective partnership approaches at the individual, organisational and strategic levels for social work practice learning.
