Abstract
This article focuses on the parodic rewriting of Cervantes' Don Quixote in the comic book Mortadelo de la Mancha (2005), by the Spanish author Francisco Ibáñez. It analyses this comic book in reference to theories of parody by Linda Hutcheon and Margaret A. Rose, and Mikhail Bakhtin's narrative theory. The article suggests a pedagogical application of Mortadelo de la Mancha in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
