Abstract
SHL Verify Interactive G+ is an internet-based test of cognitive ability for use in selection and promotion / training decisions in occupational settings, designed to be delivered on mobile phone, tablet and computer platforms. It provides scores for Deductive reasoning, Inductive reasoning and Numerical reasoning, as well as a General Ability score. The test items draw on a mix of crystalised and fluid intelligence, and, rather than multiple-choice responses, candidates complete activity-based tasks, using the drag and drop function, based on real-life work scenarios. The test uses a version of computer adaptive testing allowing it to minimise the number of test items used. 24 items are selected for each test session, 8 from each of the three sub-tests, and the test cycles through each of these item types. The time limit for the test is 36 minutes; the total administration time, including instructions and practice items, is approximately 45 minutes. The test is intended for use with a variety of job levels but is most appropriate for graduate and managerial assessment. Test administration can be either supervised or unsupervised. Candidate scores are compared to a general population norm group, although more specific norm groups can be selected if required. Automated reports are produced for both the client (the employer / organisation) and the candidate.
