Abstract
This interactive session will offer opportunities to explore the potential of using approaches in teaching designed to enable students to learn the skills needed to live sustainably in the world, supporting learners to become agents for sustainability. Compassionate pedagogies based on consideration, respect and kindness for the world, human and non-human will be explored, along with the use of traditional ecological knowledge which offers a deeper understanding of the reciprocal relationship between the humans and the natural world. Participants will take away some useful approaches to adapt and adopt in their own context.
