Abstract
This is a four-sider report introducing and summarising Teachers’ Voices Conference (TVC), a teachers’ classroom-based research initiative supported under the English in Action (EIA) school-based teacher professional development project in Bangladeshi 2016-2017. 160 Bangladeshi teachers took part in the TVC initiative over a period of more than a year and through mentoring and a series of workshops were supported to develop skills to investigate their own classroom practice and to carry out personalised research studies. The TVC initiative culminated in the participating teachers presenting their research studies at a national conference and in several cases writing them up for publication in a dedicated book produced by the EIA project. The report provides a summary of the rationale, inputs and process of the research initiative as well as an overview of the range of areas which the participating teachers focused on in their studies and presentations at the conference. It also includes report authors’ reflections on indicators of the impact of taking part in TVC on the participants.
