Abstract

When people hear about rural businesses, many associate them with farming, fishing, forestry and other land-based businesses. While these firms make up part of the economic mix, this project will focus on non-land-based businesses with the aim of developing thriving rural communities through new research on how business support can enhance the performance of micro and small businesses, initially targeting coastal areas of rural Wales.
