Abstract

Didierea madagascariensis is one of 11 species of the family Didiereaceae endemic to Madagascar and the first of these to be described in 1880. This species has a distribution along the south-west coastal belt where it grows on chalk-free, red, sandy soil. It is described and illustrated in cultivation.
