Abstract

This textbook was written to be used by secondary school pupils in Rhodesia and Nyasaland (now Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi) studying geography for national examinations. It was the first published for this purpose. Part 1 deals with the historical background, location and extent, relief and drainage, climate, vegetation, crop farming, stock raising, forestry and fishing, mining, power supply, manufacturing and trade, principal towns, communications and potential development. Part 2, published separately, is solely about geomorphology.
