Abstract
Euphorbia is the largest genus of succulents with around 800 species of its c. 2,000 species being succulent. Recent molecular studies have provided evidence that Euphorbia is a very diverse but unified genus because a number of smaller genera actually belong within it. Wei et al. (2021a) provide the strongest supporting evidence to date confirming Euphorbia as a single hyperdiverse genus.
Wei et al. (2021b) provide additional support for this expanded, unified concept of a hyperdiverse Euphorbia but focus on a very small group of just 14 species belonging to the former separate genus Synadenium.
