Abstract

'On Road' is a phrase young people in the UK's urban landscapes use to describe various aspects of their lives. In this introduction we describe the relevance of the term and how we seek to unpack and explore features of those lives throughout the book. We explain our interest in gender and the importance of including both men and women's experiences of 'on road'. Each of the contributing authors are introduced and the contribution is briefly sketched.
