Abstract

In 1916 Ronald Ross published the first of three papers entitled 'An Application of the Theory of Probabilities to the Study of a priori Pathometry', the second and third appearing the following year co-authored with Hilda Hudson.   In this article, which is based on recently uncovered archival material, I discuss the nature and extent of their collaboration, setting it into the broader context of Ross’s mathematical aspirations.
