Abstract
Drawing on Derrida’s (1994) hauntological writing, this paper invites consumer researchers to engage the specter in a dialogue. We show how the specter haunts and inhabit marketplaces, their absent-presence and present-absence reveal ethical and political potential that problematise what and who possess the rights to be present in the marketplace.
