Abstract

Translated summary: This publication largely summarises our results obtained with the VEGFR-2 ECD-targeting DARPins in endothelial cell systems. At the same time, this article also provides an overview of the current state-of-the-art in terms of anti-angiogenic treatment and provides insight into the possible benefits of highly receptor-specific reagents that make use of a novel mechanism of allosteric inhibition. Lastly, this article presents initial data obtained from anti-VEGFR-2 D4-7-targeted inhibition in cancer cells directly and speculates about the application of these compounds in pre-clinical tumour therapy.
