Abstract
This chapter was commissioned as the contribution from the United Kingdom in the Council on Technology Teacher Education yearbook. Data from seven different organisations and civil service departments across the four nation states of the UK were brought together for the first time, displayed, analysed and evaluated in a common format to give an overview of the types of training and the numbers enrolled on the different awards for the different school curricula. A case study example was included to illustrate an initial teacher education programme in England.
