Abstract

Developing an impact mindset refers to cultivating a way of thinking that prioritises and orients one’s academic endeavours towards creating meaningful and positive effects in various aspects of life, work, or society. An impact mindset for research and scholarship generally goes beyond traditional academic metrics (such as publication counts or citation indices) and emphasises the practical application and relevance of research to address real-world problems.

Through case studies and pointers to resources, I discuss the key elements of an impact mindset for research and scholarship outlined in my recent blogpost: https://www.shaileyminocha.info/blog/2024/1/26/developing-impact-mindset-for-research-and-scholarship
