Abstract

Aloe kedongensis is a shrubby Kenyan species with a relatively localised distribution endemic to the Rift Valley. It is described in habitat and in cultivation. Its relationships and evolution are discussed in detail and its rarity as a tetraploid species with a chromosome count of 2n = 28 is emphasized. Its native uses in Kenya are briefly described.
