Abstract
Drawing on the literature examining women’s entrepreneurship and collaborative learning networks and through a qualitative analysis of interviews with 17 women owner-managers who are leaders of existing women’s networks, this paper develops an empirically-based framework that explicates how collaborative learning networks empower women entrepreneurs in the challenging context of sub-Saharan Africa. Important policy and practical implications for empowerment women entrepreneurs in the tourism sector through collaborative learning networks are critically examined.
