Abstract

The talk will focus on a real police operation carried out by Greater Manchester Police in 2018 that sought to understand the impact of police tactics in reducing commercial burglaries. In using an evidence-based approach by attempting to isolate different tactics at several locations across Greater Manchester, several areas of learning arose for both police forces and academics when trying to bridge the gap between research and police practice.
