Abstract

The reduction of stoichiometric La0.5Sr0.5FeO3 in flowing hydrogen and nitrogen at 600C leads to the oxygen-deficient perovskite-related phase cof composition La0.5Sr0.5FeO2.72.The partial reduction of Fe4+ to Fe3+ leads to an increase in the iron-oxygen distances, an expansion of the unit cell, and changes in magnetic properties
