Abstract

This paper provides a commentary on the "Desiring Politics and the Politics of Desire" special issue. It does so by exploring the relationship between affect and ideology, showing how the papers in the special issue raise questions about how we understand the relationship between desire, affect and ideology. More than this, the paper makes an argument about the political stake of desire being the forms that desire takes. In this way, the paper offers its own take on the relationship between affect and ideology in the politics of desire.
