Abstract
The book analyses two short periods when Le Corbusier took photographs, a practice he always decried as trivial. Between 1907 and 1917 the young Charles-Edouard Jeanneret took hundreds of photographs with three different cameras. Between 1936 and 1938 he used a 16mm movie camera to take over 6,000 photographs. These have never been studied before and offer surprising insights into Le Corbusier's visual imagination. The book sets these photographs into a new technical and aesthetic context.
