Abstract

A new collaborative approach to enhancing student success has seen the Open University in Scotland (OUiS) using Student Probabilities to target a retention intervention at a group of vulnerable students. A randomised control trial approach has been taken to evaluate the intervention’s impact. The focus of this initiative reflects key internal and external strategic drivers and contributes evidence to a cross-unit project, the Early Alert Indicators Project, managed by Learning and Teaching Innovation (LTI) in collaboration with colleagues in STEM (KMi) and Strategy and Information Office (SIO) .
