Abstract

This is the first scholarly edition of the complete works by the sixteenth-century Scottish composer, Robert Johnson(d.c.1560). His worklist includes nine Latin- and eleven English-texted sacred works (almost all for four or five voices), four English songs (three of which have instrumental accompaniment), and five pieces for instrumental ensemble (in three, four, or five parts). There are eight fragmentary works, five of which are reconstructed in this volume.
