Active learning in postgraduate accountancy: imagination, alignment and engagement in practice

Hughes, Jane (2012). Active learning in postgraduate accountancy: imagination, alignment and engagement in practice. In: The Higher Education Academy: Association of Business Schools, 24-25 Apr 2012, Manchester, UK.

Abstract

This paper is an exploration of the ‘ways of learning’ (active learning) in postgraduate accountancy students, in a UK business school, using the ‘modes of belonging’: imagination, alignment and engagement in practice (Wenger 1998; Solomon 2007) to explore student identity development. Identity development is used to explain academic achievement.
