Abstract
This article will explore the concept of integrated care and how the assistant practitioner (AP) role will be key in delivering the components required to improve patient and service outcomes. The educational and learning components necessary to embrace this role are discussed, in particular the collaborative learning approach within a foundation degree programme at Staffordshire University.
