Abstract

The chapter examines the interaction between Haydn and Clementi, in particular Haydn's association with the firms Longman & Broderip and Clementi & Co. The chapter includes a close examination of the contract between Haydn and Hyde (Clementi's business associate) and the works published under its terms, as well as works published subsequent to its expiry.
