Abstract

This study examines the promotion of the teaching and practice of yoga by Vivekananda Kendra, a movement that acknowledges 'two mothers', the Ramakrishna Math and Mission and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In exploring what the Kendra understands by the 'Yoga Way of Life', the chapter examines the methods by which yoga teaching has been promoted within this organisation and the place of yoga in its outreach activities.
