Abstract
The article discusses the concept of patient dignity in community nursing. Support for the dignity of a patient is integral to community nursing care. The author explores the origins of dignity, conflicts that arise in patient care, integrity, and self compassion. Steps for planning nursing care that is respectful of a patient are also presented.
