Vijf auteurs presenteren in de publicatie Conversations on Paramaribo Perspectives hun observaties van de serie panelgesprekken rondom de tentoonstelling Paramaribo Perspectives die in het najaar van 2010 in TENT Rotterdam was te zien. De auteurs gaan in op vragen rondom de complexiteit van internationale culturele relaties tegen de achtergrond van de koloniale band tussen Nederland en Suriname; het actuele perspectief op de ideeën rondom Paul Gilroy’s baanbrekende werk The Black Atlantic; en de vraag of zwarte (Nederlandse) kunst eigenlijk wel bestaat. De publicatie Conversations on Paramaribo Perspectives vormt een aanzet tot verder denken over de potentie van een transnationaal cultuurbegrip in een nationaal kunstdiscours.
