Abstract

In recent years some institutions and libraries have accepted film/TV scores into their collections, while many other relevant sources useful to the screen music scholar exist in private collections and archives. In recognition of the difficulty in locating these valuable research resources, and the danger of them disappearing altogether, we have undertaken a scoping study of the locations of screen music sources in the UK and Ireland, supported by the Music Libraries Trust. Our article highlights a number of issues encountered when undertaking the work, suggests some possible avenues for further research in this area, and includes the outcome of the study in an appendix.
