Abstract

Map is a resource that is increasingly being used in several countries to promote meaningful learning. Many educators believe that the mapping is an important teaching strategy because learners can grasp meanings through the relationship between new ideas - such as questions, concepts, facts and arguments - with their already established knowledge. For example, the more a student can establish connections between a new concept in terms that are familiar, their explanations will become richer and easier to compile. For this, the maps can be used to represent and communicate the knowledge both individually and collectively. The open education collaborative digital world has been considered an important educational philosophy to enrich lifelong learning and informal learning by providing greater opportunities for access and construction of knowledge through social networks.
