Abstract

We present high-resolution spectroscopy of HD 306414, optical counterpart to the hard X-ray transient IGR J11215−5952, an object belonging to the class of Supergiant Fast X-ray Transients. We derive a spectral type B0.5 Ia for HD 306414 and determine its stellar parameters from an atmosphere model fit to the spectrum. Our data, taken around the time of the February 2007 X-ray outburst, show large variations in the shape of the Hα emission feature and the radial velocities of metallic lines about the time of the X-ray emission.
