Abstract
As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the NHS and its many achievements, healthcare assistants and support workers are well placed to deliver the kind of care that is valued by patients and service users; care that is compassionate, effective and safe. Flexible learning opportunities can enable busy practitioners to keep up to date with the rapid changes in healthcare. With the Open University you can earn while you learn, fit your studies around your work and home commitments, and start to put your learning into practice immediately, helping to contribute to the quality of the patient experience.
