Abstract

This talk discusses my experiences filming two acoustics-related items for the BBC Coast series. The first item was filmed at the sound mirrors at Denge in Kent and involved resurrecting the concrete structures so that they could provide early warning of an approaching Tiger Moth. The second item was filmed at the Mull of Galloway and involved using a piano, a boat and a microphone to demonstrate why foghorns were designed to produce low pitched notes! The presentation will be illustrated with photos taken at the filming locations and with video clips from the finished programmes.
