Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to provide management, particularly non-financial managers/executives, with an understanding of the areas of accounting and finance to enable them to fulfil their strategic role more effectively. It is not the aim to convert the reader into an accountant or to become too involved in the 'number-crunching' aspects of the subject.
