Abstract
The authors discuss the ethical and legal aspects of a recent broadcasted film which showed a patient's operation in Great Britain. They cite the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the law that deals with such matter, and highlight its principles in connection to the broadcasted film. They stress that the incident demonstrates that while an event may not be illegal, or result in a civil action against the nurse, it can still leave the nurse vulnerable to a professional disciplinary action.
