Abstract

Navigating Maternity Journeys: A Collaborative Exploration of Challenges and Barriers for Women of Colour in UK Policing focused on the unique experiences of women of colour navigating maternity within UK policing. The session explored the intersection of race, gender, disability and maternity, highlighting systemic barriers, cultural biases, and gaps in workplace support that disproportionately affect women of colour. Through dialogue and collaboration, the presentation aimed to explore further areas of research to address these challenges, including tailored support policies, initiatives to combat bias, and strategies to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for all.
