Abstract
This chapter takes us through three different stages of misfitting. First, the authors look back at their entrance into the profession to discuss some of the challenges and difficulties they encountered, as those are the lot of the misfit. Then they contextualise this misfitting into a broader context, connecting it to their respective personal life stories. Finally, they reflect on how collaboration has helped them overcome and contain feelings of alienation and maladjustment. Their discussion ends with a key message for their readers: put people first, and challenge instrumentality in relationships. We all need to see the importance of relationships for the sake of relationships.
