Bettley, Alison (2006). Management of contract R & D: a knowledge management perspective. In: The R & D Management Conference 2006, The challenges and opportunities of R&D management - new directions for research, 5-7 Jul 2006, Lake Windermere, Cumbria, UK.

Abstract

Knowledge management is a core business process for contract R&D firms. How these organisations implement knowledge management is potentially of considerable interest to other technology-based knowledge intensive business service (t-KIBS) firms and more widely in the knowledge economy. This paper presents a case study analysis of such an organization and proposes a model of enterprise knowledge management applicable to t-KIBS firms in general. Recommendations for further research are also made.
