Abstract
The use of digital technologies, especially mobile devices, is having significant impacts on education. Educators have diverse responses, ranging from enthusiasm to caution, as they recognise both the potential and challenges of these tools. Mobile learning, characterized by portability and context-awareness, can support more personalized, seamless learning experiences that extend beyond classroom boundaries. This can align with, or disrupt, traditional methods. Teachers may need to rethink their practices to address the individualized nature of mobile learning, while also considering factors like device access and safety concerns, especially with younger students. Community-based professional learning approaches offer valuable support for educators to share strategies and solutions, while guidelines and frameworks provide structured ways to help educators integrate mobile learning meaningfully and responsibly into their educational contexts.
