Abstract

How important is teacher happiness? This reflective article emphasises the critical importance of teacher wellbeing. Happy and healthy teachers are better equipped to create positive learning environments, leading to improved student outcomes and overall school climate, as well as supporting teacher retention and productivity in the long term. This article considers how we can potentially use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to alleviate teacher workload. By automating tasks like grading, creating personalised learning plans, and generating educational content, AI can free up teachers to focus on more meaningful interactions with students. This paper highlights that, ultimately, the combination of teacher wellbeing and AI-driven innovations can lead to a more effective and fulfilling education system for both teachers and students.
