Abstract
This paper focuses on an in depth evaluation of the current British guidance for the control of noise at outdoor music events, consisting of a break-down of licence and guidance limits put forward by councils and governing bodies, based on both A weighted and low frequency limits and the type of venue in which events are being held. A direct comparison is then made with the current industry practice used at events across the country, investigating in detail how the practice deviates from the guidance. This evaluation is then continued with a comparison of UK guidance and practice against the guidance put into place by other countries.
