Abstract
This chapter offers two things. First, a brief introduction to the term autothanatography, or what might be more simply termed autobiographical writing concerned with death and with the self. Second, a series of practical writing activities aimed at supporting you to develop your personal and creative writing skills and to reflect on some of the ideas and questions that arise in the book. What does ‘Borrowed Time’ mean to you? In what ways can writing help you to make sense of, engage with and respond to personal, political, and planetary experiences of loss? What are your feelings about your own mortality, climate emergency, and hope?
