Abstract

How are equity strategies and legislation experienced in local contexts? What specific processes and discourses are relevant for more inclusive educational experiences especially in contexts of the global south? These are complex and problematic questions that linger in contemporary international debates and require wide investigation and critical examination. This book offers much in this regard. Bringing together insights from a diverse line-up of contributors, it presents wide-ranging exploration of these questions. Through a rich range of contexts, conditions, subjects, theoretical lenses and empirical evidence, the book contributes significantly to the important debates around social and educational inclusion as well as key arguments against sustained exclusions and social reproduction.
