Abstract
This paper discusses a subject raised in oral testimony that barely appears in any written form: an alleged blood brotherhood between representatives of the Maasai community and leading British settlers, in British East Africa in the 1900s. An excerpt from my DPhil dissertation, Moving the Maasai: A Colonial Misadventure (University of Oxford 2002), published as a book of the same title in 2006.
