Abstract
The journey towards Inclusive education has meant that teachers are working with a more diverse range of children than previously. This article outlines a technique that Learning Support teachers may find useful, albeit for a relatively small number of children, and is based on questions arising from a presentation at the I.L.S.A. Conference 2002 Inclusive Education - Count Me In! Some children with severe learning difficulties encounter significant problems in learning to recognise single words. So hov So how can teachers help children who are failing at their first step in literacy development.'
