Abstract
The paper is based on research into tandem learning conducted over a number of years. It starts with a brief overview of the literature on error correction, then outlines the principles of tandem learning and finally presents a case study. The significance of this paper lies in its qualitative approach which allows the author to raise relevant questions in relation to language learning in intercultural settings. Some of these questions find tentative answers in the paper itself, others open the way to further research. This is original research and makes an international contribution to the theory of tandem language learning and error correction.
