Abstract

Gumzo at AfriCHI'16 aims to advance HCI by engaging design practice and scholarship with diverse voices and local or broader creativity, challenging dominant perspectives and raising critical issues about media, representation, technology, society and participation in technology production and research. In particular, this workshop invites reflection on how practitioners and researchers are approaching oral performance in particular, and how we are using multimedia, multilingual and multimodal methods and data.
