Abstract

Application of an electric field to the conductive heterogeneous media causes the non-uniform current distribution. The magnetic energy associated to the current distribution can be calculated using a numerical method [1]. Different microstructural configurations of the heterogeneous media cause different current distributions, and hence associate to the different magnetic energies of the electrically discontinuous media. The magnetic energy is a type of free energy.
