Abstract

The introduction (to the edited volume 'Remembering Parthenope: The Reception of Classical Naples from Antiquity to the Present') outlines the rationale for the volume, and explores its relationship to earlier scholarship on Naples and the wider Campanian area. It also provides some key historical information about Neapolitan history.
